Studio updates for 2007

As the holiday season approaches so does next years wedding and event season. I’m pleased to announce that my current wedding price list is not going up, yeah baby, no price increase on pre-configured packages for 2007 as of this writing.
So what is changing in 2007? Well I’m going for simplicity and flexibility in pre-configured packages. I’ll be embracing what is referred to as “Print Credits”. Instead of having predetermined print sizes included within packages, you will have a print credit to work with. You can use this print credit towards any type of product I carry, 8×10, 5×7, thank you cards or additional album design and album pages. Now how is that for flexibility and simplicity. I hope you find this process useful in determining the options you wish to have included within your wedding packages.

Online forms coming soon.

In order to assist my customers even further, I’m currently in the process of creating forms needed to complete your packages and putting them online. This will allow greater flexibility on scheduling constraints that sometimes can be challenging. Plus the online forms will be great for me to actually keep track of them. I have to love those emails that I get from my great customers that go hi Christos here are my enlargements pics talk to you soon. And that’s it, oh wait it get’s better, the email address is from kittykat45 (not a real address but you get the picture). Hmmm I love you guys.
The old method of printable downloadable forms will still be available for customers that still like using paper and pen and mailing them to me. Currently there are plans for those forms to be upgraded as well. Wondering, what the forms would look like? Well here is a partial screenshot of one of them. Talk to you all soon.

The future of wedding photography?

The biggest misconception is that wedding photography is a quick way to make a buck. It seems that a large majority of brides dismiss that fact that they should hire a professional wedding photographer and ask either a sibling or an uncle with a camera to play the role of the photographer for that day.
Unfortunatetly it has reached a point where books are even being published with this thought in mind such as here.
I have nothing against this but the truth of the matter is that some people will think, ok this was easy, so comes Monday they print out a thousand business cards with the term professional wedding photographer on them. The book as mentioned above will become a bible to them, and some of them may even have an eye for wedding photography and most will not.
So what does this mean for future bides? Plain and simple, a lot of bad wedding photographers. They will be charging a rather low fee for wedding photos and guess what it will show in the final print. A professional wedding photographer is worth his / her weight in gold. They will know how to edit your images, how to design your album and such. So the choice is yours on who to hire as your wedding photographer. The old saying is true you do get what you pay for. So please do your research and try to hire a decent photographer for your wedding. All photographers want is for you to be happy with your wedding images.

What are your thoughts on this?

Why hire a professional wedding photographer.

Professional Wedding Photography is both an art form and a discipline. A fine professional wedding photographer really earns his fees and this in turn drives your investment in wedding photography coverage.  Weddings, like similar once-in-a-lifetime situations, require an insightful sensitivity for the circumstances at hand, and outstanding photographic expertise. There are no second chances in wedding photography. Brides and Grooms entrust the professional wedding photographer with this, the most important time of their lives, and in so doing create a strong partnership, if only for a short-lived moment.  Being given this moment, the professional wedding photographer rises to the occasion and provides the bride and groom with stunning wedding images that outlast their memories and beautify the walls of their homes.  For these reasons you should only entrust the best professional wedding photographer within your allotted budget to capture your precious day.  If you are on a budget, and most of us are, you might be tempted to get a friend or family member to photograph your wedding. He or she might even be a skilled amateur photographer and have adequate equipment. But this is one area where you do not want to try saving your money. You have only one attempt at hiring the right photographer for your wedding photography; there are no second chances in wedding photography. A professional wedding photographer makes all the difference during your wedding day, he or she will be able to direct you during your day, he or she will make sure you are enjoying yourself. Keep in mind that the wedding photographer will be the one person that you will be spending your entire day with.

The wedding photographer will be the one individual who will have a lasting effect on the memory of your wedding day for years to come. A professional wedding photographer is reliable, prompt and will deliver in a timely fashion. Having photographed various weddings, a seasoned professional wedding photographer will be in his environment at your wedding, not nervous and under pressure like an inexperienced photographer. A professional wedding photographer uses the best labs for image processing that deliver outstanding quality on professional photographic paper.

Professional wedding photographers are experienced in working efficiently within allotted time frames, and are comfortable directing the individuals and groups during formal group photography. When you take into consideration of your entire wedding, the cost of professional wedding photography is a fairly small investment. Please do budget accordingly for your wedding photography, the forums are filled with brides that decided to hire a student, or an inexpensive photographer only to be horrified at the end results. Your wedding photos are one of the only items that you will have left twenty years from now to relive your beautiful day.
