New York City Engagement Shoot

Catherine and Dimitri

Ok so i’m a bit late in posting this one. I’ve been sick over the last week and i didn’t have the energy to do much, the shipment of proofs that came in today are all out of order. I just spent the last 6 hours of my life trying to put the proofs in chronological order, it looked like someone at the lab decided to shuffle my proofs, not fun.But anyway, i decided to do something a bit different with this one. Instead of posting about 10 images, i decided to post a complete album design for you guys covering just about the entire day. No fancy stuff here, no look what i can do but rather an album design that a client will purchase, including all the traditional poses that clients expect. So about the wedding, well it was held over at St Catherine’s and George, hmmm i’ve been there often lately and will be going back at the end of this month for a baptism. And the reception was held at the Westbury Manor.

A moment in time

Little things in life are never noticed. Little things in life are sometimes ignored. Little things in life last a lifetime.

My favorite image from last weeks wedding, more to come in a few days.

The Moment

Anastasia and Chris The Wedding

Anastasias and Chris’s wedding day finally arrived and what an energetic couple they were. The day was stress free, stunning but the weather was cold. But their family and friends had such a love for the day that i don’t think that anyone really cared. The ceremony was held at St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church in Astoria, and the reception for the festivities at Leonard’s of Great Neck. Oh let’s not forget about Bravo Sounds that provided the entertainment for the night.

Wedding day tip The First Dance

Since we are in the off season, it’s a bit quite on the blog front, but I thought I would  share with you a wedding day tip.

Your wedding day is going to be filled with many beautiful and emotional moments that will make your wedding like nobody else’s. One of these precious moments is the first dance, so I have a wedding day tip for you.
Let it be about you and your husband, after all its your day, it’s your time to shine so don’t share the first dance. Instead have a second song for the bridal party, the parents and your guests to join in the festivities. Now here is why, the average song that is played during the first dance is a bit over 3 minutes, from a photography perspective this is the amount of time I have to capture all of my images that will make your first dance yours. Now if you cut the first dance in half and permit the bridal party, parents and guests to join in, the average amount of time I will have is a minute and a half to do this in, think about it 90 seconds. Again this is just a tip, I always do my best for my clients no matter how much time I have during any portion of the day. So what do you guys think?
