The future of wedding photography?

The biggest misconception is that wedding photography is a quick way to make a buck. It seems that a large majority of brides dismiss that fact that they should hire a professional wedding photographer and ask either a sibling or an uncle with a camera to play the role of the photographer for that day.
Unfortunatetly it has reached a point where books are even being published with this thought in mind such as here.
I have nothing against this but the truth of the matter is that some people will think, ok this was easy, so comes Monday they print out a thousand business cards with the term professional wedding photographer on them. The book as mentioned above will become a bible to them, and some of them may even have an eye for wedding photography and most will not.
So what does this mean for future bides? Plain and simple, a lot of bad wedding photographers. They will be charging a rather low fee for wedding photos and guess what it will show in the final print. A professional wedding photographer is worth his / her weight in gold. They will know how to edit your images, how to design your album and such. So the choice is yours on who to hire as your wedding photographer. The old saying is true you do get what you pay for. So please do your research and try to hire a decent photographer for your wedding. All photographers want is for you to be happy with your wedding images.

What are your thoughts on this?
